Choquequirao, in Quechua “Cradle of gold”, are the ruins of an Inca urban center. She is known as the younger sister of the Wonder of the World Machu Picchu. It is located at 3,103 m.a.s.l. lying on the impressive canyon of the Urubamba River, in the foothills of the snowy Salkantay, in the Apurimac Valley, in the province of the Convention in Cusco, Peru.
